The Reference
Services Department provides assistance in the use of library and other
information sources. Help is available to users in the library at the service
points listed below. Remote users may ask questions using our reference
request form, and over the telephone, 504-280-6549. For in-depth reference
help, an appointment with one of the subject
specialist librarians is recommended. Library instruction is
also available for members of the UNO community.
- Reference
Desk (504-280-6549)
The Reference Desk, located on the 1st floor, is staffed by reference
librarians who can instruct users in a variety of sources, including
the online catalog, periodical indexes, the cd-rom library, and other
general reference material.
- Government
Documents (504-280-7276)
The library's Government Documents collection is primarily located on
the 3rd floor, and contains government publications in print, microfilm,
and CD-ROM format. If you have a question about our government documents
holdings, you can contact Lora Amsberryaugier.
- Instruction
Services (504-280-3273)
The library offers general orientations for certain introductory-level
courses, as well as course-specific and assignment-specific instructional
sessions and handouts. For introductory-level courses, contact Rodney Jackman. For subject-specific and upper-level course instruction,
contact the appropriate subject librarian.
