    This is the codification of the rules of regulatory agencies. It is divided into subject areas that cover such things as the military, agriculture, the post office, etc. There are 50 titles that are updated yearly.

  • Background Notes
    An up-to-date description and analysis of countries around the world with which the United States maintains relations. This information is maintained by the U.S. State Department.
  • CIA World Factbook – Call# PREX 3.15: Information in this title is compiled yearly by the CIA. There is an entry for every country in the world in this volume. Each country is treated with a succinct overview of its people, land, economic and politics. This title is updated yearly.

    Each volume in this series covers an individual country. It discusses the geography, people, customs, economics, politics and national security systems of lesser known countries where U.S. troops might be deployed. The series is no longer being updated so some of the information may be out of date.

    This title is issued annually (there were some exceptions with a few combined volumes issued in the past). Current trends in education are discussed and statistics that are of national scope and interest are presented.

    Issued annually, this report tabulates crime statistics that are submitted from state and local law agencies. The only other correlate used in this title to compare crime is population. No other social factors are considered.

    is also a search engine for .gov and .mil web sites, but it works best as a web portal for government information. The homepage is divided into 5 tabs with each section’s information geared to a specific user group. Citizens, Business, Federal Employees,Government to Government and Visitors to the US.
