Biographical Note

 

 

            Charles Perrier was born in Vera Cruz, Mexico, on June 5, 1891.  He attended schools in France and Switzerland and worked as an official of the French Vice-Consulat in Vera Cruz (ca. 1910-1921), eventually rising to the position of gerant (managing officer).  Following that association, he worked for a short time with the Belgian legation and in commercial activities.  Perrier came to New Orleans in 1923 and was a waiter in various restaurants, including that belonging to his relatives, the Galatoire family.  He died in 1956.
